Hey Bill I was at the game today and Hayes was absolutely invisible. I know it is early but he looks very slow and there was one play in particular where he stick handled himself into a corner with nobody around and lost the puck that had me going hmmmm.

Was a rough game to watch once the Oilers pulled ahead.

Overall it felt like the Flyers were dominant in the second and then they were down by four goals.

Wish they had some snarl but I know that is forbidden at this point.

With the mandate to win only a matter of time before the gm makes some moves.

This team is still soft as butter.

All the announcers, even the national ones, keep pointing to the opening travel schedule, citing 15k miles. Ok, fair enough. Let's see what happens in the next 10 games

Well this season is going to get interesting with the marketing department pushing all the "Fly or Die" stuff.

At the end of the day Hart wasnt himself. The second period sums the gam up entirely. Outplayed Edmonton for the period with nothing to show and Edmonton scores on their....I wanna say 3rd shot of the 2nd. It is a frustrating loss but this wasnt like last year, Flyers generated a lot of chances. Even with the 6 Goals against the Flyers could had enough chances to win that game.

Need to go home to Philly and regroup.

Western Canada road trip. 0 for 3. Unacceptable.
Hart pulled in front of family & friends. Brutal.
Bunnaman & Stewart have zero business being in an NHL lineup.
Manning with a goal. Because of course.
Two wins this year are against teams who have combined for 1 win in 10 games.
5 games is a small sample, looks like the same crap from the last 5+ years.

For those calling for a pure shooter last night, I think there is something to that. I don’t think think we lose a game worth 52 shots on our side if you have a Jeff Carter, Simon Gagne or a John LeClair our side. Right now we don’t.

Also the response on the Konecny hit was a little weak. Good for Couturier for responses but that’s where you really miss a guy like Simmonds. I can watch highlights of Simmonds getting into scrums all day. I understand the mindset of not wanting a guy who fights and nothing else but at least draft or trade for tougher skilled players.

I think I would sit Ghost and play Morin. Ghost is useless.

After every back-to-back loss, a player deemed ‘useless’ by the HockeyBuzz crowd will be sacrificed.

Nice knowing ya, Ghost. 😢

Why do the flyers always seem to have a western trip during the first few weeks of every season?

This year it would have been a good idea to skip until later...

I agree. I believe the travel has gotten to them even though they are pro athletes.

I am very disappointed with the results of the road trip, but in the grand scheme of things, a 2-2-1 record doesn't have us buried or anything.

The key is to come up with a win in the next game here. If they fall into the same old first game after a long road trip trap and lay an egg against a struggling Dallas team I am going to start to get concerned. Get Hart right back in there to shake off the bad start last night.

All this stuff is legitimate concerns. But they are pros and need to power through it. Its not like they have day jobs. This IS their job.

Yep, a continuation of last season so far.

I keep going back to the comments he made about not worrying about being yelled at he just gotta do his thang damn the consequences.

And some of the lack of comments from the coaches about where his game is and how he couldn't be helped.

He doesn't have enough pedigree, or skill, to be acting like he is Ray Bourque and just do what he wants. I sure hope that isn't the case.
